Cross-country Lofer
Fans of this Nordic sport will not be left wanting in the Salzburger Saalachtal: Lofer alone offers a network of 50 km of trails, of which 35 km are easy and 15 km of a medium level. A further 30 km in Unken-Heutal join this, as well as the skating tracks running parallel! Simple circuits can be found especially in the valley, whereas the snow-sure high-altitude trails on the Loferer Alm and in the Heutal are more demanding. The high altitude tracks on the Loferer Alm (1,450 - 1,500 m) is especially sunny, making it highly recommendable for all those who want to catch some rays on the side. There is also the opportunity to take a trip to the Winklmoosalm on the Bavarian side. The 12 km long trail runs slightly uphill and requires a bit of stamina! Those not wanting to give up their Nordic fun in the evening can ski a few rounds on the floodlit track near St. Martin.
